FAQs

I’m not sure if I can afford buying direct from the farm?

Our customers are typically surprised how low our prices are. Food prices are going through the roof in many places, but we are doing everything we can behind the scenes on the farm and with our processors so that we continue to keep prices low and the value high! On Thursdays, if you buy fresh chicken in bulk, we can cut down on packaging and save you $10! Don is working on some other ways to save you money. Be sure to ask about the extra steps we are taking to help stretch your dollar when you see us!

Can you get me something that is not our your order form?

Just ask! If you reach out by Monday, we can often get cuts specific to you, for Thursday.

What is in your ground meats and patties?

100% beef or chicken. Nothing added. No fillers. No trickery to increase the weight without nutritional value.

Are your products gluten free?

Nearly everything we carry is gluten free. There are only a few exceptions. Ask us!

Are your cattle grass fed?

Our cattle are grass fed and then grain and barley finished for greater tenderness and marbling than you will get with 100% grass fed. We ‘d love to show you the visual difference.

Do you have lean beef?

Our beef has some fat as there is alot of flavour and nutrition in the fat. We have a lot of customers that look for extra marbling! If you are looking for lean cuts, we can do that too.

What does “the way nature intended mean”?

Our animals are pasture raised. Hormone, antibiotic and steroid free. Cattle are naturally aged for 21 days ( no chemicals to rush the aging process along! ). We are passionate about about raising our animals naturally - the way nature intended. This affects the tenderness and flavour too! We also grow the grain and barley the animals are finished with, so we know exactly what they eat.

I’d like fresh, not frozen!

We get our weekly fresh chicken and beef deliveries on Thursdays by 1 or 2pm so please visit us at 19301 2nd Concession Rd on Thursday afternoon for fresh meats.

How do I know the meat is safely processed?

Our main post at 19301 2nd Concession Rd East Gwillimbury, the main farm in Sanford and our freezers at the Newmarket Farmer’s Market all receive unannounced inspections where the meat temperature is checked. Also the abattoirs and processing facilities we partner with are all Ontario inspected.

Can I get a 1/4, 1/2 or full cow?

Yes! Don will be happy to walk you through the process and how to get the best cuts for your preferences.

I’d like to know more about the other local products you carry!

Kountry Korner Pickles and Jams come directly from Mennonites in Mount Forest, Ontario. Our most popular product is the pickled beets! I love that I can read the label and pronounce all of the ingredients!
